There are various options to get around Miami without having to rent a car. The following resources are available in Miami for you to explore the city with convenience.

Public transportation

There are several public transportation options for getting to and from FIU campuses. The cities of Sweetwater, Doral, and North Miami all provide free transportation services to the public:

Sweetwater Trolley

The City of Sweetwater offers a free transportation service to the public. Transportation to areas such as Dolphin Mall, parks, Sweetwater Municipal Complex, and FIU’s MMC campus. Operations are from 6:00am to 10:00pm Monday through Friday and from 7:00am to 8:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Doral Trolley

The City of Doral offers a free transportation service to the public. Use the Doral Trolley Tracker to help you plan your trip. Operations run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

 

Ride services 

Other ride services are available for getting around Miami with more convenience. These are usually available on command and run on your own schedule. Service charges may vary by option.

Freebee

Freebee is a free ride service you can take around designated service areas in Miami. Rides are dependent upon driver availabilty around your area. 

Uber

Uber connects drivers and riders for on-demand transportation. Prices may vary by time of day, demand, and party size. 

Lyft

Lyft connects drivers and riders for on-demand transportation. Prices may vary by time of day, demand, and party size. 

Super Shuttle Express Miami

Super Shuttle Express Miami lets you book a shuttle ride on demand. This shuttle also allows you to book rides in advance.
